"I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power." - Thomas Jefferson 1820

"There is a growing technology of testing that permits us now to do in nanoseconds things that we shouldn't be doing at all." - Dr. Gerald Bracey author of Rotten Apples in Education

As seen on youtube.

Khem Irby, speaking at a Guilford, North Carolina school board meeting, expresses her concern about student privacy rights.

NYC Public School Parents: Parents beware! NY and eight other states plan to share your child's confidential school records with private corporations without your consent! http://shar.es/4MNTS

Ms. Irby asked about procedures safeguarding information or being able to opt children out of data gathering.  Has the school board answered her questions?

  1. Geez, just spent some time going through the latest posts here...seems like we have been on the same wavelength. I have been researching and posting about the data mining as well. As long as the companies can keep people talking about the actual test they will win. they will makes tests, then make all new tests to pacify people, and folks will think they have won.

  2. NOT ONE BIT of it is legal!
    Parents need to be careful.
How has ALL privacy been allowed transparency and abuse by social networks?

  3. The apathy in this nation is appalling! Do you CARE that your privacy rights are being violated by CCS (just one of many ways our God given rights are being abused)? The central government is taking control of your/our children while we chose to "turn a blind eye."

What will you do to TAKE A STAND?
