"I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power." - Thomas Jefferson 1820

"There is a growing technology of testing that permits us now to do in nanoseconds things that we shouldn't be doing at all." - Dr. Gerald Bracey author of Rotten Apples in Education

Constructive Citizen Action in Liberty, MO

This is a great blog (claycomopolitics.wordpress.com) about Missouri politics, including the reporting of educational concerns in Missouri. The following article landed in my inbox today and I salute these watchdogs for public education. They are taking action in their district and are positive examples of citizen input.

Contact your district and determine if you have the opportunity to be in the planning process in your school. As I've said before, it's our kids and it's our money. Use your voice and your time in investigating and contributing to your district.

  1. I would like to implore someone who reads this that has any influence to encourage all tea party administrators to not render evil for evil, but overcome evil with good. For example: It would be right to strongly encourage all tea party members to live the dream of Martin Luther King JR. His dream was for all races! Put out an official statement of love and hope and peace between all people. Invite all to the tea party platform in a way that doesn't mince words or is not afraid to lose a small faction that does indeed have hate for another race. Love is the way. Our country is being split before our eyes and The Tea Party is in a unique position to grow, or decline. Please grow the right way!
